Medical weight loss program in Bengaluru
You may weigh roughly what you did five years ago and still not recognise your waistline — and in Karnataka’s data, that is not your imagination: high-risk waist measurements in urban men now outnumber overweight readings on the scale. MensMD treats that as a medical question. A registered doctor reviews your at-home lab results and history online and decides what, if anything, you should be treated with.

Why It Matters Here
Weight and metabolic health in Bengaluru
City living in Karnataka carries a measurable weight cost. NFHS-5 (2019–21) found 39.4% of urban Karnataka men aged 15–49 overweight or obese (BMI ≥25) against 25.0% of rural men — a fourteen-point urban gap — with the state total up sharply from 22.1% to 30.9% in a single survey round [1]. NFHS district factsheets do not publish men’s BMI, so no Bengaluru-only men’s figure exists; but the district data for women shows how fast the city itself is moving: overweight or obesity among Bengaluru women rose from 32.0% to 40.1% between NFHS-4 (2015–16) and NFHS-5 (2019–21) — eight points in roughly five years [2].
The scale, though, is the less reliable instrument here. In urban Karnataka, 41.2% of men carry a high-risk waist-to-hip ratio (≥0.90) — slightly more than the 39.4% who count as overweight by BMI [1]. Among Bengaluru women, 44.4% have a high-risk waist-to-hip ratio even though only 10.0% are underweight [2]. The pattern is starkest in a 2024 study from rural Bengaluru district (Devanahalli), where central obesity reached 46.4% while generalised obesity — the kind BMI catches — was just 7.5% [3]. Nationally, ICMR-INDIAB found the same ordering: abdominal obesity at 39.5% versus generalised obesity at 28.6% [4]. Practically, a man in Bengaluru with a “normal” BMI can still be carrying the visceral fat that drives metabolic risk — which is why a serious assessment starts with your waist and your labs, not your bathroom scale.
The numbers that make this urgent are already in the district factsheet. Among Bengaluru men aged 15 and above, 21.3% have high or very high blood sugar or are already on medication for it, and 33.5% have elevated blood pressure or take medication for that [2]. Nationally, ICMR-INDIAB puts diabetes at 11.4% of adults [4] — a stricter diagnostic yardstick than the factsheet’s screening threshold, but both point the same way. Roughly one adult man in five in Bengaluru is already past the blood-sugar line, which means screening belongs at the start of weight management, not after something goes wrong. That is the order this program follows: lab panel first, then a doctor’s review, then a plan.

Frequently asked questions
Do you do home sample collection in Bengaluru?
Yes. Certified partner laboratories collect samples at your home or office across Bengaluru. Serviceability for your exact pincode is confirmed when you book, and you pick a slot that suits your day — no clinic queues, no fasting-window guesswork.
How fast is delivery in Bengaluru?
Orders to Bengaluru metro addresses typically arrive in 2–4 business days. Everything ships in plain, discreet packaging with no mention of the contents, and you get tracking from dispatch to doorstep.
My weight is normal but my waist has grown. Should I still take the assessment?
Yes — that pattern is exactly what Karnataka’s data shows. High-risk waist-to-hip ratios in urban men slightly outnumber overweight BMI readings, so a normal weight is not reassurance by itself. The assessment and baseline lab panel look at waist-linked metabolic markers, and the doctor advises you based on those results, not the scale alone.
Is the consultation with a real doctor?
Yes. Every consultation is with a registered medical practitioner, conducted online as per the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. The doctor reviews your assessment and lab reports before advising anything.
Will I be prescribed medication?
Only if a doctor decides it is appropriate for you after reviewing your assessment, labs and history. Some men are advised lifestyle and nutrition changes alone; prescription treatment is never decided by a website and never sold without a valid prescription where one is required.
Can I consult in Kannada?
Consultations are conducted online in English and Hindi, and you can mention a language preference when booking — Kannada-speaking doctor availability varies by slot. Your written plan and reports are in English.
